Architectural drawing of the Forestry Building designed by Portland architect Ion Lewis. Billed as the world’s largest log cabin, the structure measured 105 feet by 209 feet and was constructed completely of unhewn logs. The largest foundation logs weighed 32 tons and measured 54 feet in length by 5 feet across. Fire destroyed the building in 1964. (Courtesy Oregon State Archives)
