Present Duties
The Oregon Health Licensing Agency (OHLA) is a state consumer protection agency providing centralized regulatory oversight for multiple volunteer citizen boards, advisory councils and licensing programs of health and related professions. The agency works to promote consumer protection through education, enforcement and partnerships, and to promote a positive business environment by reducing barriers to professional practice.
The boards and councils under the OHLA’s administration set educational and professional scope of practice requirements for their fields of service. The agency director assumes responsibility for central operations, achieving outcomes, complying with state law, and ensuring proper stewardship of agency funds. The director provides overall vision and leadership for the agency budget, legislative agenda and formulation of policy.
