Oregon State Board of Nursing > Web site
Since 1911, the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) has regulated nursing practice and education in protection of the public’s health, safety and well-being. It oversees the licensure, certification, education and compliance of the approximately 80,000 registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants and advanced practice nurses in Oregon.
The nine OSBN board members are appointed by the governor and include a mix of public members and nursing professionals. They represent a variety of nursing practice settings and geographic locations. Board members serve three-year terms. The OSBN meets regularly throughout the year and may hold special meetings if necessary. The OSBN employs a staff of about 50 who provide customer service and assist the board in carrying out its mission.
