Present Duties
The Veterinary Medical Examining Board regulates veterinary professionals through enforcement of the Veterinary Practice Act. The board establishes licensing requirements and monitors the professional conduct of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, euthanasia shelters and euthanasia technicians. The board investigates consumer complaints and takes appropriate remedial or disciplinary action. The board monitors consumer issues and identifies and establishes minimum practice standards to ensure that quality veterinary care is provided to the public.
